I also think that it is weird that the american one was way scarier than ringu, I thought ringu was a little funny compared to the ring, but for movies like shutter and a tale of two sisters, the originals are way better, and the loose adaptation the condemned based of battle royale was an abomination to all of asia.

The American version of Ringu was what got me into horror movies. When I first watched it, the final scene haunted me for about two years. It’s unusual to say this, but the American version is a LOT scarier than the Japanese version. Most of time it’s the other way around ^_^”"

scariest japanese movie is the american ringu remake, not to say that ringu is not good, because it is, but the american one scared the shit out of me.

Movies with bloody scenes not always qualified as good horror movies, a good horror movies are movies that have effects that make people have goosebumps and have nightmares and can scare people for a long time, not movies that make people go away because it’s so disgusting.

Now that’s just being stereotypical..
Americans make lots of gore movies such as saw and other phsyco films as much as Koreans do.
